Declan Rice has spoken about his goal against Chelsea.
On April 22 (KST), Arsenal shared Rice’s story on their official website. “David Beckham inspired me,” Rice said of his goal against Chelsea.
Arsenal played Chelsea to a 2-2 draw in the ninth round of the 2023/24 Premier League at Stamford Bridge in London, England, on Nov. 22 (KST).
Rice, who started the match, intercepted a pass from the opposing goalkeeper in the 32nd minute and shot straight at goal. The shot came from about 30 meters away from the goal, but it still found the back of the net for Chelsea.
Rice completed 88% of his passes (46/52), created one chance, touched the ball 63 times, and made seven passes into the attacking third while playing full-time. Soccer statistics company Footmob gave Rice a rating of 8. It was the highest on the team.
British outlet Football London gave Rice a rating of 7, writing, “Another big game. Rice was one of the few people to step forward into the penalty box in the first half, and he produced an excellent finish after Robert Sanchez’s mistake.”
Rice spoke to the club after the game about the goal. “Everyone was talking about Beckham’s documentary. I watched it for the first time last night. In the middle of the documentary, there’s a long-range goal he scored against Wimbledon. I got a lot of inspiration from that.”
“As a player, you have to make quick decisions. You have to think about whether to pass the ball or score a goal yourself. I watched the goal again and I think it was a great finish. I’m happy with it.” 토스카지노
