Lee Jung-hoo works with a female director? Alyssa Nacken SF interviews the director…’a pioneering achievement’

San Francisco Giants assistant coach Alyssa Naken, 33, is breaking the “golden girl” barrier.

Assistant coach Nacken has officially interviewed for the San Francisco head coaching job, according to The Athletic, a sports publication. The Giants have not confirmed the news, but several local media outlets have reported the news., the official website of Major League Baseball (MLB), said, “Nacken is the first woman to interview for a managerial position in the MLB and will likely make history (regardless of the outcome).

Born in 1990, Nacken played softball in college. She joined the San Francisco baseball operations department as an intern in 2014 and was named to manager Gabe Kapler’s staff in January 2020, becoming the first full-time female coach in MLB. In April 2022, she made her debut as an on-field coach, replacing first base coach Antoine Richardson.

“Nacken is one of several internal candidates to replace Kapler, who was fired with one year left on his contract after failing to reach the postseason for the second straight season,” reported, noting that third base coach Mark Holmberg and bench coach Kai Correa also interviewed. Special assistant to the president of baseball operations Ron Waters, who has a long coaching career, is also expected to be a candidate. Bullpen coach Craig Alvernaz is also a candidate.

What makes San Francisco’s next manager even more interesting is that it coincides with Lee Jung-hoo (Kiwoom Heroes) preparing for his big league challenge. Lee is expected to knock on MLB’s door via the postseason posting system (closed competitive bidding). San Francisco has gone out of its way to keep an eye on Lee, with general manager Pete Putilla traveling to Gocheok SkyDome to watch him in person. During Lee’s last home game of the season against the Samsung Lions on April 10, several MLB teams, including the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and New York Mets, sent representatives to the Gocheok Dome, but San Francisco was the only team whose general manager (GM) personally attended. 메이저사이트
