Cesc Fabregas can’t seem to find his ‘scoring touch’.
He’s a quality striker from Brazil. He’s over 6’2″ with solid physicality and, as expected for a Brazilian, good footwork. His pace and aggressive dribbling make him a tactically versatile player who can press forward and move wide to the left and right. He is also a good finisher in the box and in the post.
No stranger to the Premier League (PL). He grew up in his country’s league and started his PL career at Watford. After showing promise with five league goals and five assists for Watford, he moved to Everton the following year and was an ‘ace’ for four years. Even in the 2021-22 season, when Everton were facing relegation, Hicharisson kept the team afloat with double-digit league goals.
He then moved to Tottenham Hotspur for the 2022-23 season. Antonio Conte hoped that he could take some of the pressure off Harry Kane, Son Heung-min, and Dejan Kuluczewski.
However, this has been a complete failure. He never quite fit in at Tottenham. He was silent in the league for long periods of time, and there were even rumors of a falling out with Conte during the season. He did score his much-anticipated first league goal in the second half, but overall, it was a very disappointing performance.
There were high expectations coming into this season. With the departure of the ‘ace’ Kane, it was clear that the youngster would have to step up to the plate. With Tottenham not signing a replacement for Kane, his performance was more important than ever, but the situation remains the same. His decision-making has been as poor this season as it was last. Two goals and two assists in nine games, including cup competitions. Since the last game against Burnley, he’s even lost the striker spot to Son Heung-min.
His struggles have continued in the A-League. Brazil recently drew 1-1 with Venezuela in a FIFA World Cup qualifier. Gabriel Magalhaes gave Brazil the lead in the fifth minute of the second half, but he was denied by Eduardo Bello in the 40th minute. In this match, Hischalisson started as a frontline striker but did not do much and was replaced by Gabriel Jesus in the 14th minute of the second half. 스포츠토토
Ratings were low. Global soccer outlet Goal.com gave him a rating of 5, saying, “His off-the-ball movement was good, but he didn’t make any impact when it came to finishing.”
Football London, a British publication, took a different view. “The run up to the end of the year is going to be crucial for him. He needs to prove his worth at Tottenham. In particular, he needs to show that he can replace Son Heung-min while the latter is away at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup.”
