The home side lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Rasmus Højlund started up top. Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount, and Bruno Fernandez provided support in the second line. Sophien Amrabat and Casemiro were in charge of the midfield. The back four was Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Harry Maguire, and Diogo Dalot. The goalkeeper’s gloves were worn by Andre Onana.
For their opponents, Brentford went with a 3-5-2 formation. Joan Wissa and Brian Mbomo formed the back two. In midfield, Aaron Hickey, Vitali Janelt, Christian Norgård, Mathias Jensen, and Mas Roerslev. In defense, Nathan Collins, Ethan Pinnock, and Christopher Ayer. Tomas Strakosha was in goal.

Brentford attempted to break down the United backline as Wissah and Mbemo continued to penetrate into the space between the center backs and full backs, with Hickey, Jensen, and others rushing forward to help the attack.
United, on the other hand, centered their attack around Bruno. However, the passes to Hooper, Rashford, and others were intercepted by the defense in the final third. Casemiro continued to look out of sorts after the concession. In the 38th minute of the first half, as Brentford attacked, Casemiro had no control over his man.
