The rumored feud between manager Eric den Haag and Jadon Sancho has been going on for a while now. Manchester United legend Roy Keane has urged the pair to reconcile.
“Keane has urged leaders in the United locker room to resolve the bickering between Eric ten Hague and Jadon Sancho,” the Mirror reported on Sunday.
Sancho began his professional career with Borussia Dortmund. He rose to prominence after scoring double-digit goals in three consecutive seasons. Following his consistent performances, he joined United for a whopping €85 million in the 2021-22 season. United bought Sancho to play on the right wing, but he also started on the left flank.
However, he struggled to adapt. In his first season, he made 38 appearances, scoring five goals and providing three assists. The performances he showed at Dortmund were not there. There were predictions that his position would change under Ten Hagh, but he was still mostly on the substitutes’ bench in 2022-23. Injuries kept him out of the starting lineup, and Sancho had a somewhat lackluster campaign with seven goals and three assists in 41 games.
Despite a steady stream of appearances after the start of the season, Sancho was nowhere to be seen in the fourth round match against Arsenal. After the game, Van Gaal said, “I watched him in training and I didn’t pick him. At United, we demand a certain level every day, and you have to be up to it,” he said, explaining his decision to leave Sancho out of the squad.
Sancho was uncomfortable with the news. “Don’t believe what you see, it’s not all true. I participated in training to the best of my ability. I have been treated poorly for a long time. They’re using me as a scapegoat,” he posted, seemingly sniping at the coach. It didn’t take long for rumors of a feud to surface. Some argued that Sancho’s attitude had been a problem for a long time.
Following the controversy, Sancho soon deleted the post on social media, but United were adamant. Although Sancho has returned to training, the club announced on its official website that “Sancho has been excluded from the first team squad and will continue to train privately until his disciplinary issues are resolved.” 먹튀검증
Van Gaal wanted Sancho to apologize, but he refused. The Telegraph reported, “Sancho rejected Van Gaal’s demand for a public apology. He was expelled from the first-team squad with immediate effect. Sancho believes he is the victim of a double standard at the club.”
Sancho was even banned from using the first team facilities. “Sancho has been banned from using Manchester United’s first-team facilities, according to the Daily Mail. He has been banned from all first-team facilities at United’s Carrington training ground following a falling out with manager Eric ten Haag. “Sancho even ate with the academy players as a disciplinary measure,” the report said, adding that Sancho was banned from using the facilities available to United’s first-team players.
Sancho deleted his social media accounts as he continued to miss games, but Van Gaal still ignored him. Transfer market pundit Fabrizio Romano reported on the 27th.
