Mohamed Salah’s agent, Rami Abbas, has denied the possibility of a move to Saudi Arabia.
Transfer market journalist Fabrizio Romano posted a quote from Salah’s agent, Rami Abbas, on his social media account on Sunday (July 7), in response to speculation of a move to Saudi Arabia. “If we had considered leaving Liverpool this year, he would not have signed a new contract with the club last summer. Salah is committed to Liverpool,” hinting at a Liverpool stay.
Saudi Arabia has been the center of attention in this summer’s transfer market. Saudi league clubs have used their deep pockets to snap up a number of key players from European leagues. 스포츠토토 Starting with world soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo last winter, this summer has seen European semi-professionals such as Leo Neves, Sadio Mane, and Sergej-Milinkovic-Savic make the move to Saudi Arabia.
The Saudis even tried to sign Liverpool star Salah. “Al Ittihad is ready to pay him €180 million ($258.3 million) over two years,” Saudi media outlet Aliyadia reported on July 7. Al Ittihad, the Saudi champions last season, were among the clubs to sign Karim Benzema and N’Golo Kante in the transfer market.
Liverpool had already sent Fabinho to Al Ittihad. Jordan Henderson, their captain, also left for Al Ittifa in Saudi Arabia. The loss of Salah would be a huge blow for Liverpool. If Salah, who is the core of Liverpool’s power, left, they would have to find a replacement for the rest of the season, but they were relieved when Salah’s agent denied that he was heading to Saudi Arabia.
Salah is Liverpool’s key attacker. He joined the Reds in the summer of 2017, and in his first season, he led the EPL with 32 goals in 36 league games. The Reds reached the top of the UEFA Champions League in 2018/19 thanks to Salah’s form, and then lifted the coveted EPL title in 2019/20. In six seasons at Liverpool, Salah has scored 186 goals and provided 79 assists in 305 games.
