Gangwon FC’s first win under Yoon Jung-hwan will have to wait. unable to survive late stoppage time.
Gangwon played Jeju United to a 1-1 draw at Jeju World Cup Stadium on Saturday in the 25th round of the Hanaowq K League 2023 at Jeju World Cup Stadium.
Midseason coach Yoon Jeong-hwan had lost five of his last six matches before this one. They are still without a win.
The win keeps Gangwon in the bottom 12 with two wins, 11 draws and 12 losses and 17 points. Jeju is ninth with eight wins, seven draws and 10 losses and 31 points.
Jeju started Hayes, Kwon Sun-ho, Jeon Sung-jin, Kim Gun-woong, Kim Bong-soo, Kim Joo-gong, Lee Ju-yong, Lim Chae-min, Yeon Je-woon, Lim Chang-woo, and Kim Dong-joon (goalkeeper).
In response, Gangwon sent out Yago, Lee Seung-won, Wellington, Shin Min-woo, Hae-young, Kim Dae-won, Ryu Kwang-hyun, Kim Young-bin, Kang Too-ji, Kang Ji-hoon, and Lee Kwang-yeon (goalkeepers).
In the 22nd minute, Kang Won missed a crucial chance. Kim Dae-won won possession of the ball on the right flank, drove the ball to the corner of the box, and unleashed a surprise right-footed shot, but it was a piece of paper and went wide of the goal.
Jeju made a substitution. In the 31st minute, Kwon Soon-ho and Jeon Sung-jin were removed and Yuri Jonatan and Song Ju-hoon were introduced.
In the 32nd minute, Jeju’s Im Chang-woo lamented. Near the left side of Gangwon’s goal, Lim tried to take a shot, but it hit the post.
The first half ended 0-0.
Gangwon missed a chance to take the lead. In the fourth minute of the second half, Lee Seung-won broke down the right flank. The bouncing ball was picked up by Shin Min-woo near the center of the box and he fired a low, quick shot that rattled the side netting. In the ninth minute of the second half, Wellington rattled the net, but was caught offside.
Kang Won pulled out his substitution card. In the 25th minute, Yago and Lee Seung-won were taken off and Gallego and Park Sang-hyuk were brought on. Jeju brought on Seo Jin-soo and Lee Ki-hyuk in place of Kim Joo-gong and Kim Gun-woong.
In the 22nd minute, Gangwon’s Kim Dae-won had a shot blocked by a super save. From the right side of the box, Kim Dae-won was free to hit a powerful shot with his right foot. However, it was saved.
Jeju and Kangwon made additional substitutions. Jeju sent on Kim Seung-seop for Lee Ju-yong and Kangwon sent on Kim Jin-ho for Wellington.
In the 35th minute of the second half, Jeju’s Seo Jin-soo fired a mid-range shot at Hoesim, but the ball went into the side netting.
The tense 0-0 balance was broken. In the 37th minute, Park Sang-hyuk connected a bounded ball from the left side of the box with a left-footed shot to split Jeju’s goal.
Jeju scored a dramatic equalizer in stoppage time. Hayes drew a foul inside the box. He took the kick himself and scored. The game ended 1-1.
